OUTLINE THE BASIC STEPS FOR THE PREPARATION OF A LOCAL PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN AS PER THE PLANNING ACT
Local physical Development plan is a plan for an area or part of a city
,municipal ,town or urban council and include a plan with reference to any trading or marketing area .
The basic steps in preparation of the LOCAL Physical Development Plan includes
IDENTIFICATION OF THE PLANNING AREA AND ADVERTISEMENT OF THE INTENSION TO PLAN on two local daily
A RECCONNAISSANCE SURVEY is carried out to establish planning needs of the area
DATA COLLECTION Data collection involves both primary and secondary data collection methods which includes literature review ,interviews ,questionnaires and observation.
DRAFT OF THE LOCAL PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN The draft is prepared based on the data collected on the field.
FIRST STAKEHOLDERS MEETING This is where the draft is presented to the stakeholders for them to give comments and suggestion about the draft.
REFINING THE DRAFT After the stakeholders meeting the draft is refined using the comments and suggestion presented by the stakeholders
SECOND STAKEHOLDERS MEETING The group present to the stakeholder the redefined draft
REFINE THE LOCAL PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN This include the suggestions given by the stake holders in the second stakeholders meeting
THIRD STAKEHOLDERS MEETING here your present the refined Local Physical Development Plan to the stakeholders
FINAL DRAFT Using the comment and suggestion given by the stake holders one is able to have the final draft
APPROVAL OF THE FINAL DRAFT BY THE DIRECTOR
PUBLICATION OF THE LPDP this is done so that any person aggrieved may petition to the Liason Committee and then to the High Court within 60 days
THE MINISTER/CABINET SECRETARY SIGN THE LPDP the minister may refuse to sign the local physical development plan and this will force the Director to prepare another plan
