Abstract:

The topics are ethics and diversity. Ethics are the inner-guiding moral principles, values, and beliefs that people use to analyze or interpret a situation and decide what is right way to behave (Bethel University). Diversity makes up organizations workforce culture. Diversity is different nationalities of people as well as age, and gender.

The difference between ethics and diversity is that ethic deals with doing what is right by fellow employees as well as other stakeholders. Some other stakeholders are stockholders, managers, customers, suppliers and the community. Ethics are the inner-guiding moral principles, values, and beliefs that people use to analyze or interpret a situation and decide what is right way to behave (Bethel University). Cheating to get what you want, disregarding the laws or mistreating your stakeholders is an unethical act. When organizations management makes unethical decisions it has an affect on other employees and stakeholder as well as their families.

While ethics is doing what is right diversity deals with differences. Diversity is differences among people in age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and capabilities as well as disabilities (Bethel University). Equal opportunity is set in place to work against companies not hiring a person because of race, gender, age and etc.

Organizations are now forcing managers as well as employees that are old enough to retire out because they feel that they are a risk. They are hiring younger managers and younger employees. However the organization will have to be ethical about how they handle it. Although some men and women may have the same position, the man is probably going to be paid more than the woman manager.
