1. CSR also known as Corporate Social Responsibility represents the responsibility that a business has towards all its stakeholders, not just to owners or shareholders, to deal with their needs fairly. Internal Stakeholders include shareholders and employees and external stakeholders include customers, suppliers, non-governmental organizations, workers and the local communities where products are made. All of these have different needs.

Corporate social Responsibility is also about how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society. It is also the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large. CSR is the capacity building for sustainable livelihoods.

2. An organization or company needs to be able to respond and demonstrate responsibility in different ways. This might include activities as wide ranging as encouraging employees to volunteer in community projects, sponsoring and supporting charity work or contributing time to improving its environmental impact.

They have also a responsibility about their workers, to its customers and shareholders to ensure that its products and services are made in good working conditions. Some manufacturing businesses like Primark are made up of women workers. However, these women often have little education and low levels of literacy as they drop out education early to help their families. Lack basic knowledge of health, hygiene, nutrition and an understanding of how a woman’s body works.
