Assignment Title: Describing and summarizing key aspects in the Sociology of Work

Assignment Task

Your assignment should include:

* One piece of work comprising three 500 word sections which describe and summarize:

1. Work in capitalist Pre-industrial society Circa 1500 - 1750

2. Working practices in capitalist Industrial era – Circa 1750 - 1980

3. Work in the capitalist post-industrial era – Circa 1980 to the present day

* A reference list in which you provide full Harvard references for all sources.

* A description and summary of the types and locations of work in the three eras.

* Examples of, and comments upon, the links between the working and social aspects of lives in the three eras

* Reference where appropriate to differences in time and location with regard to the global picture.

Assignment Structure and Requirements

The recommended structure for this assignment is as follows. Each section should include:

* Introduction (brief outline of the content)

* Description (description of the significant aspects of work in the relevant era)

* Examples and Comments ( here you draw on reading and experience to suggest examples of the work or jobs that demonstrate the issues you have discussed)

* Summary or Conclusion (summarize the world of work you have described).

In addition, and at the end (not included in the word count) you must provide a full Harvard reference list any sources you have used to compile the three pieces of work.

Each section is to be a maximum of 500 words in length. As stated above, your reference list is excluded from this word limit.
