I’m currently employed with the United States Air Force as a federal agent for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. My five years being in the Air Force I have seen a lot of trends and goals to increase mission readiness . The mission of the United States Air Force is to fly, fight and win in air, space and cyberspace. To achieve that mission, the Air Force has a vision of Global Vigilance, Reach and Power. That vision orbits around three core competencies: developing Airmen, technology to war fighting and integrating operations. Before in the Air Force a high school degree was good enough to progess through the ranking in the military. Now there are people coming in the military with degree and more skills to bring to the fight. The Air Force has changed because of the migration of smarter memebers and because of this military member are required to take college courses to make rank. The Air Force wants smarter indivudals who are capable of learning their job fast and capable of running new technology. For the year 2013 the Air Force is also down sizing in money being spent because of budget cuts to $154.3 billion a year from $162.5 billion in 2012. The Air Forces vision is to have a smaller, high-quality force. And because of this new trend service would lose 3,900 active-duty airmen, 900 reservists and 5,100 Air National Guard members in 2013 due to budget cuts.
