Strategic Planning Initiative

For most large scale corporation strategic planning is a first line of defense for planning future calculations of investments for potential growth. Turning to HP’s annual report, more than a few significant strategic planning initiatives are talk about, such as: competitive positioning, operational efficiency, investing for growth, and leveraging (HP 2010 Annual Report, p. 36-37). The previous sections was centered around the strategic planning initiative of creating prepared effectiveness, and assess the monetary impact it will eventually capitulate.

Financial Impact of the Initiative

In an attempt to stay aggressive in the computer world while rotating proceeds, HP has recognized an equipped effective plan. The strategic planning initiative of establishing operational efficiency has had an effect on HP’s monetary planning, sales and costs. Throughout the past 10 years competition has grown and become more hard lined do to the fact of competitors haveing initiated the sales of technologies goods that are comparable to HP’s products. Competition has had a major influence on HP’s products sales and price methods. HP has recognized that an adverse market shares could be impacted by reaction to HP’s product decisions, consequently having a big impact on profits and potential growth.

“Operating framework that includes a disciplined focus on operational efficiency” is the operational efficiency plan that HP has put into place (HP 2010 Annual Report, p. 35). “A multi-year program announced in 2006 to reduce real estate costs” is one of HP’s initiatives that is included in their operational effieiency plan (p. he36), along with a plan to consolidate “several hundred HP real estate locations worldwide to fewer core sites” (ibid.), and orders to make use of “a multi-year process of examining every HP associated business purpose” (p. 36).
