In the case of ABC Inc. and their new campus recruiter, Carl Robins, it’s very clear that

ABC Inc. needs to improve their current hiring process and training orientation procedures.

He was not given tools that will aid him in smooth sailing. His supervisor, although Carl was

new, she didn’t check with him personally the process of hiring new recruits. She seems to have

complete trust in him in knowing how to do the job. Carl didn’t have any guidance from the back

to show him the proper steps. Carl didn’t get to learn from other people’s personal experiences

with the hiring process. Maybe someone made the same mistakes he did before. The person

tasked with maintaining the training room schedule is also very ill equipped to do their job.

When Carl learns that the training room is double-booked for the month of June, it is apparent

that there is no organization to the booking process or any redundant measures in place to catch a

mistake of this kind. Although his company has failed him, the burden of personal responsibility

still falls directly on Carl when it comes to his job and executing the tasks that are handed to

him from his superiors. In this specific case, he failed to complete any of the tasks Ms. Carrols

expected of him.

Carl Robins, during his first recruitment effort in spite of being at his job for only six

months, ran into some scheduling and missing paperwork trouble. Wanting to impress his

supervisor, he assured her that everything is going as plan and will be complete by expectation

date. Without double checking, like every good worker should, that everything is actually going

as plan, he came back from Memorial Day finding out that much paperwork are still missing

from the recruits and the training room has already been booked for a whole month for computer

training seminars. He struggle to figure what will be his next step. Since no one was his mentor,

his mistakes...
