1. Compare Westinghouse Research Model to Google.

People admired the opportunity of working for Westinghouse Electricity Company not just because of Westinghouse’s world-of-class technology equipment and environment, but also its great corporate culture of showing respect to all the employees and motivating them to act on their own idea and make contribution to the company. And that was one of the reasons why Tesla chose to leave Edison and joined Westinghouse. He was more supported by the company and had his own flexibility of design and experiments.

Currently Westinghouse is no longer one of the best technology company in the world, but the success of another company, which built the best searching engine that everyone is using and involves in all kinds of cutting edge electronic products can be attributed to the similar corporate culture and thoughts shared with Westinghouse. Google is rated as the best company to work for in United States. Making its employee happy is the first goal to help them engaged in the work. Google provided the best compensation package including high salary, all kinds of health and retirement benefits and stock plans to motivate the people. Besides of that, it also deploys a flat organization structure where there are few hierarchy and instead people are working in small groups where they can share their ideas more easily. Employees are the most valuable property of the company. If the company could not offer compensation or environment that meets their expectation, huge people flow will happen and deteriorates the work efficiency of the company significantly.
