Alumina Plan

Issue 1: Possible continued contamination

If Alumina has continued to contaminate the lake with knowledge, they risk not only the possibility of a private suit, but also

federal fines and penalties. (See page 487 in text) They risk infecting the local community's health and safety.

Issue 2: Alumina arranging for a private investigation on Bates

Alumina has no justification for defaming Bates and initiating an investigation against her. If Alumina feels that they have

been in compliance with environmental laws and regulations since the violation, then their continuous testing results of the

lake should support this fact. But, if the child's medical records reflect health issues dating back prior to the correction of

the violation, then Alumina's image will be affected especially if light of the investigation surfaces and Alumina will be seen

as being unconscious to the health concerns of the community.

The above table has been created to address several issues within the Alumina simulation. The simulation developed addresses health and safety risks related to the contamination of water that involves Alumina, Inc. As a business manager of Alumina, Inc., I have developed a plan that identifies regulatory risks, prevention, detection and correction to those risks. This plan will also describe specific measures to manage each risk.
