Abstract

Apple Inc. is an American corporation that manufactures consumer electronics hardware and software. Apple’s most well-known hardware products throughout the world are their Macintosh computers, iPhone and iPod. Their software mainly focuses on 3 aspects, their Mac operating system, iTunes media browser and their iLife suites for multimedia purposes. Apple’s products are unique, especially in their design. Apple established a well-known reputation in the electronic industry from its comprehensive aesthetic design and distinctive advertising campaigns. But the most outstanding characteristic about Apple is that they have a very strong customer base (Dave, 2013). The Co-Founder of Apple, Steve Jobs was a visionary. He was a man who strongly believes in the revolutionary IT technology. Believing that Apple will be the one that changes how the world sees technology. He was the CEO of Apple till August 2011 where he finally resigned due to health deterioration. He named Tim Cook as his successor and CEO. Tim Cook had a total different management from Steve Jobs. He believes in managing personal relationship rather than ideas and creations from conflicts and disagreements.

Introduction

Organizational behavior is the understanding of human mindset in a workplace. The understanding and logic behind what individual thinks how they felt and why they react in certain ways. In today’s world, most managers will agree that human resources are the hardest to manage. Employees often complain about bosses’ lack of communication skills. Where else the higher management will talk about the employee’s lack of motivation, conflicts and disputes between workers. In the past, organizations mainly focus on retaining employees based on their technical skills. But in today’s society, human behavior and keeping the company’s positive culture are factors that most organization will look into. (Encyclopedia of Management, 2006)
