SECTION A: INTRODUCTION

LINDO (Linear Interactive and Discrete Optimiser) is a linear, quadratic and integer programming system intended to satisfy the needs of a wide range of users. The design philosophy of LINDO was that it should be readily intelligible to the user with a simple problem, and at the other extreme, be capable of solving real industrial problems involving very large matrices.

This document gives details of how to run LINDO on Computing Services' PC network. A comprehensive description of LINDO's capabilities is contained in the 'LINDO User's Manual' and in 'LINDO - An Optimization Modelling System', copies of which are available in The Computing Service's Desk, The Frederick Lanchester Building, (Library), for reference only.

A1 Facilities

The LINDO program can solve user defined linear, quadratic or integer programming problems. The LINDO command set consists of instructions to define, modify, display, solve and save the model.

SECTION B: LICENCE INFORMATION

LINDO is copyright software, therefore the unauthorised copying or distribution of this software is a criminal offence and is strictly prohibited. Offenders may be prosecuted by the software owners and/or the University.
