Learners Attendance Policy

The learners in question are absent, given the definition of ‘absent’ in the Learners Attendance Policy that a learner is deemed to be absent from school when a learner is not present in class or not participating in a school activity when a register is marked.

In most of the schools, a class registration period is scheduled at or may be the start of each morning session that is the first 10 minutes from 7H50. The learners in question they arrived between 30 minutes and a hour after the 7H50 bell has rang which implies that the first period of the day has elapsed foremost the first 10 minutes of the class registration has finish and therefore they have been marked as absent according to the Learners Attendance Policy.

Therefore I can conclude that late coming constitute absence in terms of the Learner Attendance Policy
