ANALYSIS OF MOVIE “FRIENDS WITH MONEY “WITH REFERENCE TO TEAM CHARACTERISTICS

Movie “Friends with Money” focuses on four female friends at different stages of life. Three are married, some of them have children. Some couples are extremely wealthy, others are not. Olivia (Jennifer Aniston), a former school teacher and now a maid, is single. The film revolves around their life and their interactions. In the movie all the couples generally commit to arguments on small things.

Group cohesiveness:

Smaller groups and those who spend considerable time together tend to be more cohesive. Olivia and her friends spent considerable time together and despite the differences in their financial and family background, they all preferred to stay connected.

Typically the informal, formation of people based upon a common goal, interest or ability is considered a "friendship group." These groups are often much more of a social gathering than anything else and the group comprising of Olivia and her friends fall under this category as they all had nothing formal to deal with.

The absence of mutual understanding is evident when Olivia asks for money from her friend and she refuses. In the movie money essentially doesn’t meant physical real world money, but money also refers to as emotional bank balance that we all have in relations. Olivia has friends and she is also in a relationship with Mike (fitness instructor) but she doesn’t have money, not only the real money but also emotional money (love, care etc.). As soon as she starts getting along with Marty she got what she needed, emotions, love, care etc. So in a way Marty and Olivia formed a team in which members are complimenting each other. Olivia takes care of small things such as tie and Marty express love and care towards Olivia.
