Christmas is a time of celebration, a time of rejoice but most importantly is spending it with those you love.

On Christmas day the streets of New York was filled with a lot of spirit and warmth. Known as the “Big Apple”, many people from all suburbs gathered together at one of the most iconic places to spend Christmas Eve- Times Square. Whilst everyone in and around New York were starting to celebrate Christmas, one man on his own was trying to create a special Christmas Eve for his family.

Aiden McKenzie was a hardworking cleaner. He worked long hours and the income he received was not enough to allow him and his family to buy all the lavish things other family’s bought. He had something those other family’s didn’t have, and that was the Christmas spirit. He believed that he would be able to treat them to something they had never experienced before.

He was due to receive payment after finishing work, but to his amazement the boss had sent them all a letter saying they wouldn’t be getting paid the amount they worked for. Inside all these co-workers, there was anger and disappointment, but he however just kept walking, and walking until he got to the road where he could see Times Square’s big tower. As he stared at the huge tower he started weeping uncontrollably, everything that was bottled up all over the years was finally coming out. He kept crying until all of a sudden he felt a touch on his right shoulder.

As he looked up he saw a man standing right beside him. He greeted the man but was also wary. The man dug in his pocket and handed Aiden a ball, including five pieces. Aiden looked at this ball and could see that this was no ordinary ball. He told Aiden to make any five wishes he would like. As Aiden looked up to ask what this man’s name was, he had already disappeared.
