1. Sensation seeking is a trait, which is defined by the ultimate seeking of novel, complex, varied and intense experiences and sensations and the undying willingness to take financial, physical, legal and social risks for the sake of having such an experience. The various explanations of sensation seeking are currently based on a model that is influenced by social, physiological, biological and genetic factors, which influence particular preferences, attitudes and behaviors. I personally consider myself as a sensation seeker since I have the mentioned traits and I get the thrill of attempting such risks. I also tend to engage greatly in certain behaviors, which increase my amount of stimulation, which I experience. I truly enjoy stimulating occupations, which evidently involve seeking out an arousal that causes a thrill. I also accept risks being possible outcomes when obtaining the arousal. I have the tendency of seeking excitement and sensory pleasure. I go after intense sensations, complexity, novelty and I get easily bored with activities, which do not have high levels of stimulation (Zuckerman, 2007).

There are four traits in sensation seeking and they include boredom susceptibility, disinhibition, experience seeking and adventure and thrill seeking. There are numerous advantages of sensation seeking and they include the advantage of facing fears and risks, which are closely associated with being a successful person in life. Recent research by authoritative authors has shown that success in life and is linked with the ability to take various risks since the person is well prepared for any eventuality, which may arise. The capability of taking risk and picking up the pieces in case of a loss is what determines effectively the strength of that person in handling challenges in both life and in business.
