This painting has been in my family since I was about 10 years old. I remember when we went to Antigua Guatemala, with my parents, and my mom said she had to have it. My job was to carry it thru the airport and make sure nothing happened to it. It wasn’t just one, she bought a few of them different streets of the city. Recently that I moved back to Houston, TX, after my time in the Marines. My mom came to my apartment and said this painting will go perfect behind your couch. It has a lot of value to me for that reason.

The painting is of a street in Antigua Guatemala. The view is as if you are standing on the left side of the road looking towards the end of the street. It seems to be in the spring, but Antigua Guatemala is known to be the city of “eternal spring.” The flowers are blooming. There are puddles on the street along the sidewalk on the right side as if it rained the night before. You can see the architecture reflecting in the puddles. The streets are made of cobble stone. It is early in the morning. There seems to be a little bit of fog with the volcano looming in the distance. I believe the name of that volcano is “Volcan Pacaya”. It is a little cloudy but the sun is shining. You can see the shadow of the houses on the left side. It is 16th Century Colonial Spanish Architecture. The house on the right is white, has three windows with security bars, and has a beautiful church like structure as the entrance. Over the wall it has Bougainvillea flowers. You can only see the end of the first house on the left. It is a dark red, the window has security bars sitting on a cement shelf base. Inside the window there are three nice pots with red flowers. The second house is long and yellow and also has security bars, it has a sign a wooden sign over the entrance maybe it’s a restaurant, a store, or maybe just the name of...
