With the development and research in the field of Aerodynamics and need for quick movement of people and goods from one place to other lot of development took place in Air Transport sector and currently even common man is in affordable conditions to benefit from this mode of transport.

Most common mode of Air Transport is Aeroplanes which has various models based on their speed, size, comfort level etc. In our country the TATAs are pioneer in Air Transport sector which was later converted into national carriers. In the past decade this industry was opened to the private sector and many players are into the field causing reduction in Air fare and availability of service in many cities.

There three major Services in Air Lines Industry in India like Domestic, International and Cargo. The Major Air Lines in India are Air India, Kingfisher Airlines, Jet Airways, Spicejet, Indigo. Etc. Due to competition in this industry the Air fare levels have come down drastically and even common man in able to travel by Air Lines in case of emergencies.

Merits:

• We can reach the far off destination in short time

• The uncertainity in case of internal disturbances during travel by road or rail can be avoided in Air Travel.

• We can shift medical emergency cases for treatment in short time, thus save lives.

Demerits:

• Comparatively high cost of Air Travel is not affordable to many

• Uncertainity in Air Traffic during extreme weather condition.

• Non Availabilty of Airports in small cities.
