I. Preparation for Planning

A strategic plan is an important tool for the company’s success. A strategic planning determines where an organization is going over the next several years, how long it’s going to get there and how it will know if it got there or not.

Board of directors, management & planning team as well as the stakeholders can participate in strategic planning. All of them must understand the basics of strategic plan. Administrator and coordinator can help the process including arranging meetings helping to record key information and monitoring the process .Most agree that annual review of action plans is critical, but the shelf life of a strategic plan can vary to three to five years.
