1.0 INTRODUCTION

The following introductory part of the report describes objective, limitations and methodology of the report.

1.1 Origin of the Report

The report “Eskayef: A Marketing Overview” has been prepared for Proffersor Mr. Sayed Munir Khasru, Course instructor of Business Communication, to meet the partial requirement of the course.

1.2 Objective of the Report

Our general objective is to explore the key dimensions of Eskayef Bangladesh LTD including its promotional programs and also to give recommendation based on our evaluation and impression of overall marketing strategy.

Our specific objectives of this report are-

* To give an overview of the Pharmaceutical Industry.

* To brief the background of Eskayef Bangladesh Limited and explore its position in the market.

* To study the target consumers along with their demographic features.

* To know the price of the products and also the price structures.

* To assess & evaluate the promotional programs of the company.

* To project future prospect of the market.

1.3 Methodology of the Report

Information used to prepare this report has been collected from both primary and secondary sources.

Primary sources: Primary information was collected from the product executive working in SK+F’s Product Management Department. This information collection was done through Informal discussion.

Secondary sources: The report basically is prepared by analyzing data from secondary sources. The sources are-

* Information Medical Services (IMS).

* Journals, magazines, newspapers and websites of both local and international pharmaceutical companies.

* Published and unpublished research materials on the related subject.

1.4 Limitations

* Business student’s lack of technical knowledge on pharmaceutical industry makes it difficult initially to some extent for preparing the report.

* Due to the unavailability, we were unable to use latest time period data.
