We thank all the retail shopkeepers of Lamington Road and Grant Road who helped us during their busy schedules and answered our queries. We are grateful to the staff of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai reference library for their kind cooperation. Above all, we are thankful to all the people who cooperated with us and gave us valuable information in the survey, without which this project would have been impossible. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The primary aim of this project is to understand and analyse the different versions of stereo speakers that exist in the market under the same brand. The brand that was dealt with in this project is Intex.

In this project the three main objectives are:

1. To analyse those factors that enable to differentiate the same product into high end and low end to satisfy the rational consumers of different income groups.

2. To determine if a standard or mid- way range of the product exists.

These objectives have been understood with the help of a few hypotheses which have been stated below:

1. Income levels impact the expenditure on stereo speakers.

2. The company sells 2.1 stereo speakers at...
