Time Management
Priorities when involving coursework are of two flavors, short term and long term. Long term for a course is always the final project which requires work over time to produce quality work. Short term usually is the next assignment or two.
With short term assignments the priority is given to whichever assignment is due next and progresses. I use the Personal Information Management software included with my PDA to keep track of due dates. Twenty four hours before a paper is due I will receive an alarm to remind me to complete and submit. I also schedule milestones for the final project at the same time so that it isn’t left to the last minute. Every morning I check the weekly schedule to see what is planned for the next couple of days and work out in my head what I will need to do to accomplish it. Then I will left my wife know what my plans are so that we can work out any conflicts between the two of us. That way if one of us needs the car, we can work out who, where and how part of the plan.
As for any academic or administration issues I have several nice young ladies, I can contact with any issues I have. They have been quite helpful although a little chatty at time. My wife had made an effort to do more at home to free time for class work and studying.
Since Murphy’s Law applies all the time I have data backed up in multiple ways. One is a separate older computer with needed software to allow me to complete my work. This system is not considered up to the standards required by the Phoenix but can perform for my current level of work. A more portable copy is on my Palm Pilot can edit Word documents and can use the Internet with an embedded Wifi system and act as a thumb drive.
