Diet/exercise and diet pills have positive and negative effects on the body. A well-balanced diet paired with exercise lowers the risk of chronic illness. People can fall in to fad diets or use exercise unsafely and cause serious long-term impairment to the body. Diet pills have the ability to help overweight or obese individuals lose weight to prevent chronic disease. On the other hand, diet pills that the FDA (Food and Drug Association) does not approve may have severe effects on the body. By knowing the positive and negative effects of these two weight loss methods, the weight loss method selected will be the best decision.
There is a reason the doctor advises virtually everyone to eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. According to the Committee on Diet and Health and the National Research Council (1989), the total amounts and types of fat in a person’s diet influences certain forms of cancer, atherosclerotic, and obesity. A balanced diet is just that, eating a balance of grains, fruits, vegetables, proteins, and dairy. Today’s technology have made it easier to maintain a healthy, balanced diet. The best technique to ensure that a person is getting all the necessary nutrients and vitamins is to keep a record, for example, a food diary. Applications and websites have made it easier to know, even when fast food is the only option, exactly what a person is eating. These applications also help keep track of calories burned during exercise. Regular exercise decreases the risk of chronic disease with countless different methods. Any exercise out of a person’s daily routine helps to promote better health. Once the heart rate goes up, the heart is pumping blood through the body at a faster rate.
