A STORY OF EXCELLENCE

IN A COMPETITIVE WORLD, ACKNOWLEDGING AND DEVELOPING A GREAT DISCOVERY IS CRUCIAL. Lea Salonga, one of the most recognizable Filipino performers of our time and arguably,one of the most successful theater artist worldwide, is one such great discovery. The childhood individual born into a world of creativity,unorthodox academe and self expression must be very interesting,Lea is a proof that achieving the pinnacle f success doesn’t happen by mere chance. It’s actually the result of properly tapping the potential that innately exists, and yes, a little luck and chance doesn’t hurt.

UNDERSTANDING EXCELLENCE “A child psychologist, Dr. Aurora Roldan, claimed that Lea is above the ordinary. It was very encouraging for that to come from someone who knows children” said mommy Ligaya Lea’s mother. She was also quite a reader, bringing books to bed to her fall asleep. Recalling her favorite subject, Biology, Lea narrates, “ In 3rd grade, you already know the animal kingdom. I was listing every invertebrate known to man. It worked because I can remember most of it still. I can remember being in Ateneo (de Manila University)and not having to memorize all that because I already knew it.”

CULTIVATING EXCELLENCE- Her teachers at OB Montessori noticed something extraordinary about her. Her associative functions were very developed, despite her tender age. The environment at school helped Lea in her mental development because the school promoted expressing of opinions and extra-curricular activities.

Lea further believes that her mom played an important role in her development. “ My mom always brought me to something artistic, trained me in a way to perform, to be confident, to be physical. I auditioned for a play when I was six and I just kept on from there,” she discloses.
