Introduction

In this paper I will attempt to give an in depth Web site analysis of Xerox.com. Xerox is a large corporation that offers services and products involving printed documents. They sell printers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, multifunctional devices, and office supplies. Xerox also sells production equipment such as digital presses, production printers and copiers, and continuous feed printers. This company also provides global services to other businesses and can help transform a medium sized company into much more.

This is the age of technology. The more technology a company has the more revenue it can make. This definitely proves to be true when it comes to companies such as Xerox. The Xerox web site is no exception. The target audience of the site is generated to both commercial and residential users. While at first glance the site may be thought of as e-commerce site it is not. The web site structure for this site is a Catalog Structure. However, there is no way to purchase products from this site, but instead it serves as a brochure for the company. The site offers product specifications and two ways of contacting a sales representative which are online chat or a one eight hundred number. The intended message of the site is to show the user what the company has to offer and why the company would be an asset to any home office, or business (Sklar, 2008).

The page layout for the site is a popular flash design that uses flash images for the top third of the page. The designer of this site had a good idea of how to use Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), and Adobe Flash player. This site does what a lot of other sites have done in recent years.
