Define social responsibility.

Social responsibility can be defined as the set of standard an organization, company or business sets in motion with the ides of developing a social conscious that strives to be environmentally responsible as well as developing policies that are for the welfare of the stakeholders of the industry.

List the three main reasons for government regulation of businesses.

Revenue generation

Public welfare and safety

Protection from monopolies and unfair business practices

Explain the purpose of consumer protection laws.

Consumer protection laws are just that, laws set up to provide protection to the buyer by enforcing penalties against business’s that participate in unfair practices. This also includes business’s that become involve with activities that are prejudicial against fair competition.

Define organizational ethics and briefly explain their importance.

Sets of values and morals incorporated within the culture or the organization that are used to promote positive actions. The values are designed by the members of company management and taught to the workforce to continue the goals set forward. The ethics can be both written and / or unwritten to be used in the governing of the decisions and actions of the organization. Positive ethics will be perceived by the customer base and the employees. If the ethical values are less than honorable, it will eventually come to light.

Identify and describe the six principles for organizations to become an employer of choice.

Focus – The drive leadership displays for goal acquisition. This focus will be seen by the employees and help with the buy in of the services being promoted. When the employees take a personal stake (buy in) they tend to work harder towards the goals of the organization.

Lighten up – Developing a work atmosphere that is safe but fun and enjoyable will promote loyalty and longevity amongst the workforce....
