Discussion Week One

Marketing strategy begins with the customer (Dolan, 1997). I worked as a marketing assistant for an organization. This particular company set for guidelines and strategies to handle different projects. The element is the executive summary. This element gives an overview entire marketing plan, with a specific focus on product, pricing, promotion, and placement. Situation analysis, Goals, Marketing strategy, Tactical programs, Implementation, Budget, Controls, and Exhibits are the other element in order of how the organization tackled projects and task for the marketing plan.

Marketing strategy development can involve several things that allow businesses to target and sell items to consumers. These can include market research, development, advertising, and sales. Each aspect of marketing strategy development is important for the overall success of any marketing campaign. Typically with the organization that I worked for there were all of the team member of the marketing department along with human resources, and management.

Typically the company would get most of their information from surveys. This was a restaurant so most often customers had the option of taking a survey online. This information was used to help grow the marketing department. The company would also use secret shopping to gather data analysis. Over all there was information from different sources but all of it was manipulated to create the best marketing strategy for the company. The organization that I worked for was able to facilitate learning of important business concepts, principles and ways of thinking and this became vital to the marketing process.

There is only I guild for creating a marketing plan (Paley, 2000). This is a universally structured outline. But when it came to the company I worked for often times they tailored the plan to fit particular cliental.
