E-tail Behaviors and Persuasive Messages
The virtual business world is not so different from the brick and mortar world of business. The behaviors are the same it is just the methods in which the behaviors are performed are different. This paper will define the three behaviors of e-tailing and analyze the behaviors by describing the purpose, sender, receiver, message, environment, technology, noise, and feedback of each. The behaviors discussed will be purchase intention, purchase phase, and post purchase phase.
Purchase Intention – this is the search for products or services. The medium that is used for e-tailing is internet advertising. This can be via banner ads, e-mails, search engine optimization, and multiple other online tools.
* Purpose – to grab the attention of the individual according to the factors that influence this stage of the process. This includes age, race, gender, interests, culture, and lifestyle. It can also include environmental factors as well. Finding the right consumer for your product or service is the main purpose of this type of message.
* Sender – the e-tailer provides a message describing their goods or services via the most effective medium.
* Receiver – the consumer views the message and absorbs the information
* Message – description of the goods or services with detail of cost, shipping, and all pertinent information.
* Environment – online shopping environment, social media, and email
* Technology – the internet and mobile technology
* Noise – anything interfering with the seamless viewing of the advertising or web page. This is often caused by broken links and slow technology.
* Feedback - the consumer is encouraged to move on to the next behavior by purchasing the product or service. There can also be feedback given via a link for questions regarding the goods or services or a survey if the e-tailer...
