I. Company Overview
“Riordan Manufacturing is a global plastic manufacturing that employs 550 people; they have projected earnings of $46 million annually. The company is owned by Riordan Industries a Fortune 1000 enterprise with revenues in excess of $1billion.
Riordan’s products include plastic beverage containers produced in their plant in Albany, Georgia, customer plastic parts are produced in their Pontiac, Michigan plant and the plastic fun parts are produced at their Hangzhou, China facility; all research and development is conducted out of the headquarters located in San Jose. Riordan customers consist of auto part manufacturers, air craft manufacturers, beverage makers, appliance manufacturers and the Department of Defense (Apollo Group, 2006).”
II. Corporate Compliance Overview
Riordan Manufacturing has created a corporate compliance plan for their field of plastic designs. Riordan is committed to following the ethical standards of business practices; state and federal law; and oversight agencies.
Employee expectations are to contribute to the business functions of the company with integrity and ethical standards. Management at Riordan contributes to achieve these standards by demonstrating leadership integrity and being a role model to employees to promote an environment which compliance and ethical business practices are expected.
Compliance is adhering to established standards that are set forth within the company. The mission of the corporate compliance plan for Riordan is to insure awareness and compliance with all applicable laws rules and regulations in regard to the federal and state, fraud, waste or abuse, ethics, privacy and security requirements.
