Connecting the Dots

In MyFoundationsLab, I started to build my writing learning path; so it can show me what areas I need improvement in writing, and that I may apply them throughout my course. After taking a few questions, it suggested that I review the fragments module at first. Then, I had to take another set of questions to see if I have mastered fragments on sentences.

These skills apply to my academic life, by helping me understand what I need to improve in my writing knowledge. Having these skills are crucial in an academic life, because they can help me enhance in my reading, writing, and math skills during my journey. It will also help me with writing papers, such as turning a 2 page paper into 4 pages.

These skills apply to my professional life, because it will increase my chances of landing the career I choose. It can help me improve, for instance, how I write my resume, to the way I creatively write to my fellow co-worker via email. Having writing skills, can greatly impact the decision of the employer I interview for, versus someone who doesn’t have these skills.

No, I wasn’t surprised by the results. I knew from starting the lab, I would have trouble, because I have struggled with writing, since I was in High School. The program showed me what I was lacking on, and what I needed to do in order to help me study further into the topic. But going through the program, it was easy to use and I’m hoping it will help me through my struggle. I think it will be very useful educational program for most of us who are like me.
