Knowledge and Excellence
What is it to say one is happy? Does it define the individual that always smiles
with their lips or the one that smiles with their eyes? I believe that an individual is never truly
happy, no matter their appearance. Through my experiences with others, I’ve noted that I am
an individual that carries a façade of happiness. I am always smiling yet there is always
something that bothers me. Be it school or familial matters, I am always thinking of
something. I believe that my thoughts are a direct product of my inquisitiveness. I like to
challenge all concepts, but I never carry the intentions of being rude or bitter. I desire
everyone to be happy but I understand that this utopian idea is not realistic. Therefore, I am
mindful of my one well being. I tend to watch put more for myself but I am not selfish. I am
careful to safeguard the bliss of my friends and family. However, this is not to say that a
simple acquaintance will guarantee me “having your back”, so to speak. I demand respect
and an equal watchfulness. I like to surround myself with those that I know I can trust and
will be there for me in the end.
I feel that one of my best qualities is my zero tolerance for ignorance. Life is
short and I believe that to live life to the fullest, one must learn all that they can be.
Knowledge may come through experiences of life itself or it may be acquired through school.
One of my favorite quotes is “knowledge is power.” Although I do not share this with others
often, it has an exalted rank in my heart. This principle has willed me to learn 4 languages,
and it motivates me to read as many books as possible. Going back to a previous point, I
also believe that by not being ignorant, one has class. Class and elegance are also held in
high regards in my heart. It empowers me to hold my head high and carry myself...
