Dick Spencer Case Analysis

The assigned case centralized around Dick Spencer,the plant manager of Modrow Company,a Canadian branch of the Tri-American Corporation.In the beginning of his career,he was a successful salesman in the corporation.After he developed into the manager of Modrow Company,he encountered a series of difficulties.This paper will analyze the factors that contributed to his salesman’s success and the reasons for his tribulations as a manager.The two most critical issues contributed to his salesman’s success are the MBA degree and the personal charisma.Also there are three issues cause for his tribulation are micromanagement,

Hay and Hodgkinson, (2006)explored that a popular purpose of the MBA degree is that it leads to fast track career success, typically construed in terms of improved salary and hierarchical position. Graduates from big institutes are more likely to get career advancement at early stages. MBA students are generally thought to have realistic self-concepts and some career directions.
