It is an age when liberal education is most likely to be ardently welcomed. Many radical educators even suggested that in accordance with the studying pattern in college , students in primary schools and middle schools should be allowed to take courses they like while give up their lest interested courses. However, a more reasonable man still recommends a fixed curriculum pool for elementary schools.

Before entering college, students undertook courses which are essentially fundamental in their later development. The course list, under the strictest evaluation of a specific counsel of the nation, tends to equip students with a general understanding of the academic world. A rough study on math, arts, history or geology is necessary and elementary, and the difficulty of courses is carefully weighed by the same counsel so that with a little effort can students manage the subject. Thus, it is no need to offer students’ rights to abandon courses they don't like or they think difficult to study. More or less, they will encounter situations where the basic knowledge on a specific field can be applied to solve the problem. Indolence at present will be a great loss in the future.

Further, a national curriculum will make freshman in the college at the same academic level. When entering college, students converge from different areas of the country. If the courses they studied previously were not at the same level or of a different range, it will be difficult for professors to manage the teaching pace. Further, a fixed curriculum list makes a standard test nationwide practical, which makes the assessment fairer.

Some detractors to the assertion may claim that the practice of compulsory courses is ignorance to diversity of students and culture. Admittedly, students vary from one individual to the other due to their unique interest and talent. However, rather than make flexibility on course options, educators can use different teaching method to attract or maintain students'...
