As I was being leaded by Anubis to the scales of Maat, I looked around and saw what was to hold my future. In front of me were the scales that would weigh whether my heart is light and free of bad deeds and sins. I saw the feather of Maat laying on one end of the scale and directly across on the other side of the scale my own heart, as Anubis tapped the scale, Ammut stood by the scale waiting for the chance to eat any heart that was filled with sin and bad deeds, those unlucky souls would forever disappear. Thoth stood by recording all the decisions made. I see a giant throne. A throne bigger and grander than anything I have ever seen, there sat Osiris. Osiris the great king of the underworld was performing the final calls of judgment on the souls that had perished. As I’m being lead to this throne by Horus to meet the god Duat I noticed other around Osirius. There were Isis and Nephthys standing by Osiris and standing tall on a lotus flower that grew out of the waters which the throne of Osiris stands was the 4 sons of Horus. Osiris sat at his grand throne with his crook and flail casting judgment calls on those who stood before him. Osiris has the ultimate power, the final judgment call on our souls, he alone decides whether we are worthy of going to the field of reeds.

Standing there I recited slowly and proudly “I have done no evil against any man, plotted to make another grieve, caused death, hunger, or weep to others, I never gave false witnesses in law courts. I have not done that which is hated by the gods, or obstructed a god image when he came forward in a festival procession. I have not taken away temple offerings, stinted the food offered to the gods or snared the birds consecrated to the gods. I have never committed adultery. I have not lessened the corn measure, or tampered with the balance. I have not deprived children of milk. I have not stolen cattle from the meadows.
