When that little Extra attention is too much

Katie has been recently hired full time major chemical company where she co-oped during her career. Katie loves her job and has established many strong friendships with her co-workers over the time she has worked there. The company encourages the interns and new hires to interact their fellow co-workers and upper management in order to create an open more personable atmosphere

During her time as an intern, Katie began to notice that her manager had been paying extra attention to her. When he was around he would always make a point to stop by Katies desk to catch up: this is something he did not do with many of the new hires. He as far as reached out to her on Facebook, and proceeded to invite her over to his house for a party. Some of her co-workers began to make offhand comments to Katie about the extra attention.

Now that she was in a full time position, Katie began to worry that she would be put into a position to directly work with this VP. Days go by and the Vp comes by Katie’s cubical, he tell her that he wants a meeting with her in his office to talk about business.

Katie meets with the VP where he proceeds to make a pass at her. She is alarmed and pushes him away, he tells her that if she would do certain things for him that she could move up fast in this company. He knows that this career means a lot to Katie, she is dumbfounded and confused at why he would do this to her and why he chose her to harass. Katie leaves the office and cannot handle the stress so she proceeds to go home for the day where she tries to sort things out at home.

Katie, who has a serious boyfriend at home, goes to him for advice on the situation. Her boyfriend proceeds to tell her that if she isn’t feeling comfortable being around the guy that she should probably speaks to someone internally to try and resolve the issue.
