Week One Report

My education has been very diverse in the 10 years that I have been in college. I have taken classes that many people would think of that would help me run a small business. I have had Accounting, Management, Business Law, Statistics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Marketing. However, I have also taken classes that many people would not associate as being vital when running a company. I have taken many classes in history and in English that gives me a broad background in understanding how the culture of the United States has been formed and literature classes that were focused on the southern part of the United States. These allow me to be able to form a connection with the people who would be my customers and understand how the past has affected and continues to affect the area in which I live. I have taken classes in American Sign Language, which allow me to communicate with a section of the public who may feel underappreciated or in some way ostracized because of not being able to communicate with the people who work in so many businesses. I believe, that by having such a large variety of formal classes in my education, my education allows me to have a large enough basis to begin the operating of a small business.

This base combines with the self-motivation that is required to be successful in on-line classes. This combination brings me to the unique person that I have become because of my education. I will continue to be affected by the classes that I take and all of the information that I learn in each and every class along with the interactions that I have with the other students in my classes and the professors who guide me through the classes that I will be taking to complete my degree.
