Eng 221 Web-Conferencing Memo

Following my research concerning various web-conferencing programs, I have come to the conclusion that Infinite Conferencing would be the best choice in programs for web-conferencing. My decision for this was based on usability, support, security, available features, and overall price. When researching different programs I realized that Infinite Conferencing was the best overall in all of these areas.

While researching which program to use, I also reviewed several other programs including Cisco WebEx, Citrix GoToMeeting, Fuze Meeting, and Adobe Connect. Two years ago these programs were ranked within the top four best web-conferencing tools available (Fenton, 2011). A brief comparison of the various programs is as follows.

To start, Adobe Connect does have decent video and interactive abilities and its help and support availability is still ranked higher than most other web-conferencing programs. However, the overall rating of all of its components is still outweighed by those of Infinite Conferencing (TechMedia Network | Intenders, 2013). Cisco WebEx was ranked as the second best software to use, two years ago, but now barely ranks within the top ten (TechMedia Network | Intenders, 2013) with high costs and a low number of attendees able to connect at once. GoToMeeting was a better choice than WebEx, but in the areas of support and features it fell far short of Infinite’s program. Fuze Meeting, although having great support, fell very short of Infinite Conferencing with poor usability and lacking in features.

Despite the fact that there are some desirable features within these other programs, Infinite Conferencing outweighs all of the other choices with the best usability, the most available features, the best security, and the lowest prices; and with the high number of attendees able to connect at once this is the most applicable program within our situation.
