In today’s business environment communication is essential to completing task. Although the business environment moves rapidly, some situations require a more time-consuming form of communication. . This paper will discuss three situations in which communication is required some would need a quick remedy and some need a more time-consuming remedy. In University of Phoenix simulation (2012), students are faced with three circumstances requesting the student to choose the appropriate communication channel.

The marketing manager and his team is recruited by the Vice President of Operation to develop a strategy for entering a new beverage in the global market. To convey the message using the direction of lateral communication because the marketing manager and team are on the same level. Means of communication should be done face-to-face oral communication. The intricacy of product development and the time restrains, one week for completion the most appropriate form of communication face-to-face in a formal meeting. “Communication acts to control member in several way” (Robbins & Judge, 2011, p. 342). Market manager assigns everyone a task and time frame to complete the task. Formal meeting provides the team with the opportunity to brainstorming ideas, questions or concern, and feedback from the team offers a support-system and dedication. In addition, this form of communication lessens uncertainty and mistakes. To convey the message using the direction of upward communication, the Vice President of Operations is a higher level than the marketing manager. The manager should meet with the Vice President of Operation is face-to-face oral and written report outlining the strategy. The manager can receives instance feedback from the Vice President of Operation.
