Endorsed since 1988 by Coca Cola manufactures of Britain Powerade has been a well-known and tasteful sports drink to the sports community. After four years, Powerade was introduced to the United States. Consisting of water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, salt, and many vitamins and minerals. Taurine is not in Powerade, but can be found in other energy drinks (“Sub”). Powerade’s focus is on main stream athletes and the company prides themselves on the ingredients and ensuring the benefits of drinking their product (“Pcs”). Thus establishing the two key aspects of Powerade. Ensuring the success and well-being of the athletes that enjoy their drink.

Powerade prides their company on the benefits and ingredients that makeup Powerade, but overall the general taste is what really counts (“Pcs”). Powerade’s ION4 is the latest and greatest drink to hit vending machines and stores across the world. Replenishing lost carboyhdrates and sodium lost in sweat, to maintain fluid balance ION4 is a great way to stay adequeatly hydrated during physical activity (“Pow”). For lighter fitness periods timing up to less than or around sixty minutes, Powerade ZERO may suit those of lighter physical engagement (“Pow”). Ideal for adults on the go or parents of athletes overall adequate hydration is very important. Sometimes water just isn’t enough and that’s when Powerade steps in.

Water is key in every beings diet and is the basis of the environment we all reside in. Water is favored in any and every situation other than vigorous activity. Exercising enduces sweat which we all lose electrolytes through. Which are not being properly replenished when drinking water during heavy physical activity, Powerade on the other hand replenishes and provides energy as one perceivers through activities.
