Introduction

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the current macroeconomic situation in the United States and discuss appropriate fiscal policies and monetary policies. Many people are still looking for work and companies are not hiring as much as they should, in order, to keep the economy healthy. For this reason, the government is looking for ways to boost the job growth sector and the help the economy improve. Fiscal policies and monetary policies are the tools in which they intend to use to accomplish this. Therefore, this paper will discuss in greater detail the economic issues that the United States is currently facing. In addition, the fiscal and monetary policies which are needed to help the economy improve will be discussed.

Cause For Alarm or Action

Since the United States has ended the Iraq War, our country has been economically unhealthy. Millions of people have lost jobs due to layoffs, and companies shutting down. In the midst of this all, many homeowners have lost their homes. They could no longer afford the mortgages that they once held. The economy has been sluggish due to money not circulating or multiplying enough. In recent years the United States has experienced a recession, which was tremendous set back. The financial industry, major corporations and banks have all suffered.
