Stock Market

The stock market has always been a mystery to me. When I think of Wall Street, I think of a mass number of people arguing over numbers that keep changing every couple of seconds. It seemed to be a bunch of chaos that I would never be able to understand. I would often think to myself that I would never invest in the stock market, and there is no point in having a stock market. But after this semester of reviewing and trading stock I have gained a greater understanding of the stock market and what it represents.

The Stock market is a term that we use to call the grouping and analyzing of stock and bond trades from company to company or from individuals to companies, either way the “stock market” is a key source to our country’s economy. When buying and trading stock or bonds it is for the companies benefit and the investors benefit. The company can use the investors’ money to help promote the business and help expand. This will raise money for the company, which helps that stock amount increase and the individual’s share will increase as well. The stock market helps these companies obtain money to make stock shares more expensive, and gives individuals an opportunity to earn money from their investments.

Investing in the stock market can be very intimidating at first. When deciding the certain type of stock you would like to invest in, first you must look at all of the possible reasons for choosing a certain type of stock. There are two noticeable reasons that I have acquired by participating in the Wall Street survival simulation. One is making your decision on the possible revenue that can come out of the stock. This is the most popular method of choosing, considering that everybody wants to make money. The other method is choosing a stock that you personally are interested in and would like to see the company expand and grow.
