Precision Farming

Precision farming is the present and future of all forms of farming. No matter what you as a farmer are trying to produce on your land, you will turn to precision farming and the applications of GIS (geographic information science) if you have not already done so. For those around the world who don’t use these techniques or simply are not familiar to them don’t fret. My mission is to lend you a helping hand and educate you in hopes that you and the rest of the world of farming can soon work together to lower costs, raise crop yields, and help the environment; however a problem still arises, how do we make precision farming readily available to all farmers and land owners? This cannot be accomplished by one college student. I feel that in order to ensure the sanctity of our farm land, and crop fields, we need the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to provide a strong campaign to reach out to the rural traditionalist in order to persuade them to invest in precision farming applications and technologies.
