Reasons for taking a vacation

Why are vacations necessary? My top three reasons for taking a vacation would be family time, relaxation, and fun and excitement. Vacations are important to most people because it helps them keep their sanity for the real world.

The first reason for taking a vacation is family time, which to me is the most important reason of all. Family time means spending time with your immediate family and also visiting family you may not have seen in a long time. Also doing activities together that normally would not be done with one another. Keeping and establishing family ties is very important in my family.

The second reason for taking a vacation is relaxation. Relaxation means not having to get up to an alarm clock, not having to rush around to be anywhere on time. Relaxing is doing what I want to do such as tanning at the beach, shopping, listening to the ocean, taking a nap as I please. No deadlines are what relaxation means to me.

The third and final reason for taking a vacation is the fun and excitement of the trips that are planned. Such trips could include Disneyland, Mammoth Caves, waterparks or even just sitting out by the pool in the back yard. My family and I went to Disneyland 8 years ago and it was a total blast. We had breakfast with Mickey and Minnie, visited many of the parks and stayed in the hotel that is located right at the Disney facility. The facility was cool because they have busses to take you from park to park so we did not need a car. One of the other vacations I remember was Mammoth Caves which is in Kentucky. We visited many caves and did alot of sight-seeing. We also figured out that if you are claustrophobic or scared of heights Mammoth caves is probably not the trip you want to plan. We figured this out when my mom got scared inside one of the caves and would not go into another cave the rest of the trip. Even though she was a wimp we still had a blast.
