Standing up for myself: Conquering Bailey the Bully!

Character A- Ariel

“Ladies, I want to ask you both about the events of today. The behavior exhibited from the both of you today portrayed a lack of self-respect from the both of you. Because of this poor representation of self from the both of you, I am forced to believe that neither of you care about the consequences or code of conduct set for the students of this school. Before I deliver consequences, I want to hear both sides of the story. I will start with Ariel first…” said Mr. Husky. Principal Husky went on and on before I was actually allowed to speak. I drifted off in thought thinking about where I went wrong in my actions to make me seem like I did not care about my outcome in this situation. I am not a fighter but Bailey somehow forced me to act deranged in order to defend myself. Now, I am sitting in the Principals office like some kind of criminal.

“Ariel! I am speaking to you!” , Mr. Husky yelled. Somehow my reflective thoughts made me escape the room. He quickly brought me back. “You may begin now!” he said. Sit up and tell the truth Ariel.

I cleared my throat, sat up and at that moment my mind became a theater that played images on the wide silver screen before the audience.

My day started like any other. Today, I dressed myself in usual drab white tee and blue jeans. I did not inconvenience myself with accessories, unless you count my glasses. Why bother? Bailey and her friends always have a way of destroying my clothes due to their bullying frolics. I have been terrorized by them for a year now. I act like I am not concerned by their cheesy annotations but truthfully speaking, I am.

After arriving to school this morning, I was greeted in front of my locker by Bailey’s welcome committee of mindless followers. They apparently decorated my locker to show how excited they were about my arrival. My locker read: “Queen of Nerds and all that is Ugly!”
