Week 2 Discussion Question

1. How do we see observational learning used in the workplace? How do we see observational learning being used in our everyday life? Is observational learning effective why or why not?

Observation learning in the work place us the process of learning by watching real-life examples. Every day one has a different way of learning and retaining knowledge or information that is being taught. For some workers observational learning and hand on learning or experiences can help them learn new ways of doing things faster and effectively. Observational learning in the work place helps develop high-performance employees and teams.

In our everyday life we use observational learning relatively a lot. We often observe other people behavior which then allows for us to perform in the same manner. Observational learning normally occurs when we are a child. As a child we watch our caregiver, moms, dads or siblings do something and we often end up doing the same things. For example through observational learning we learned how to tie our shoes, clothe our self, eat normally, brush our hair and teeth, and how to use our words correctly. Many aspects of our daily life is learned through observational learning and it has helped us with our growing development.

I believe that observational learning is highly effective. Observational learning is used as a tool for both teaching and learning. Most learned behavior is positive and many also can be negative. But overall I believe that through observational learning the outcome of positive behavior out weights the bad learned experiences.
