Creativity in Peace

International youth exchange - “Creativity in Peace - Building” will take place in sea resort of Georgia - Kobuleti, between 15-22 October, 2012.The project will last for 8 days (including arrival and departure). It will bring together 40 young people from 8 post Soviet Union and ex-communist countries, from EU and EECA: Romania, Latvia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Portugal and Russia.

The themes of the project are: developing ideas of peace, learning to use creativity as a tool for contributing to peace-building process, learning to avoid the conflicts by using the methods of non violence communication, dialogue among young people from different countries and different backgrounds, promoting solidarity and tolerance without any discrimination by working together in international groups, stimulate better understanding of diversity, and developing awareness against xenophobia. The YE will include identifying and analyzing conflicts between people and societies, as well as among countries.

All countries involved have had political or historical conflicts between each other, out of which some continue even nowadays. In this regard, the purpose of this project and the idea of how to implement it were set up by youngsters from the participant countries, who are really motivated to build peace and forget all the past conflicts and wars between them and between their countries.

The learning methods of project will be through non-formal and in-formal education. In order to achieve the objectives of YE, we’ll use various activities, such as: group discussion/presentations, case-studies, role-plays, intercultural evenings, team-building activities, flash-mobs, peaceful demonstration involving local communities and other creative activities
