Antony Flew, (1923-2010) for quite sometime, was known as the worlds most notorious atheist, who later then became a believer in God, writes a book THERE IS A GOD where he describes his life and journey from Atheism to theism.

Flew came from a Christian home where his father was a minister of religion in the Wesleyan Methodist. Flew was enrolled in a private Christian school, Kingswood School in Bath (England) it was then that he realized he was not interested whatsoever in the idea of a God worth worshiping. He describes his relationship with God, “I could never see the point of worship ... Never did I feel the slightest desire to commune with God” (Flew 10). It is quite clear he could not see himself following Christianity or any religion in general.

Although, Flew had all the right reasons to become a Catholic and follow in his fathers footsteps of Ministering, but young Antony Flew was not interested in the life his father portrayed. All throughout his teens, Flew was introduced to many vacations to different countries that also studied religion heavily. He was basically pushed into believing in something he did not seem interested in at the time. Although, Flew kept all of the lessons that he learned all throughout his childhood, and would eventually use them in his career path of philosophy.

Antony Flew was only fifteen when he rejected every idea that was to be said about their being a God. He practiced philosophical studies at the University of Oxford, during his time there, Flew accepted many different awards to then become a teacher at their University. He later then joined a Socratic Club (in relation to Socrates) in which means, “We must follow the argument wherever it leads” to where what they said in that group would stay. Within that group they would debate the relativity between atheists and Christians. C.S. Lewis the famous Christian writer, was president of the club from 1942 to 1954.
