Report This Essay

I am reporting from the inside of the left femoral vein “femoral vein is located inside the leg and provides muscles that help the leg to bend and straighten .Which allow people to feel sensations within the front part of the thigh and a section of the lower leg.” (Wisegeek, 2013) of a healthy female patient, which we will be touring my way to the lower lobe of the right lung. In which I will see what’s going on there. So I travel upward in which I hit the external iliac vein. “The external iliac vein returns deoxygenated blood from the legs back to the heart. It arises from the poplitear vein (at the knee), which then continues upward through the thigh as the femoral vein and feeds directly into the external iliac vein just behind the inguinal ligament in the lowest regions of the abdomen.”(InnerBody, 2013) and onto the common iliac vein “The common iliac veins refer to both the external and internal iliac veins; in the abdomen, these veins come together to create the inferior vena cava. These veins transport blood from the legs and pelvis back to the heart.” (InnerBody, 2013) as I travel on ward we end up in the inferior vena cava.” The inferior vena cava is a large vein ascending through the abdomen. It collects blood from the hepatic veins, lumbar veins, gonadal veins, renal veins, and phrenic veins. These vessels usually drain regions that are supplied by arteries with corresponding names. The inferior vena cava enters the heart through the right atrium.” (InnerBody, 2013). From the inferior vena cava we start upward toward the atrium of the heart, I enter into the right atrium “The right atrium is one of the four hollow chambers of the heart; it is located on the upper right hand side. It has relatively thin walls and receives blood returning through the veins. The right atrium receives blood from two large veins: the superior vena cava and the inferior vena cava. These veins return blood that is low in oxygen from various sites in the body. A smaller vein,...
