TABLE OF CONTENTS

ABSTRACT

This proposal entitled, “Developing an Educational Game, ‘Mat’ Maniac, Using Backtracking Algorithm”, is about creating a Mathematical game for all age. The main objective of this proposal is to apply Backtracking Algorithm in developing games, both engaging and educative. The game was developed in two stages: logic game—it was designed by modifying the logic-based puzzle game, Sudoku and Minesweeper; and video game—designed as a brain fitness game using Java, (mention other IDE’s used for the program).

In this contemporary world, everyday is a day for discoveries. People crave for new things, most especially when it comes to our technology that is now a big part of our lifestyle. Through the course of its improvement, computer games became very popular among individuals; youth and adult. Whether we like it or not, this matter greatly influences our society today. Almost everyone has been exposed to some kind of computer games such as role playing games, puzzle games, strategy games, casual games, educational games and action games played on a console, a personal computer, or a handheld device.
