Software programs also thrive when organizations purchase a dependable business system that is made for organizations like Riordan Manufacturing.

After reviewing the intranet site for Riordan Manufacturing team “C” discovered that Riordan Manufacturing needs a page for company-related information. Currently Riordan uses a system titled Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). This software, installed in 1992 is part of the financial systems suite. There is some success of tracking information of Riordan Manufacturing. However, the software that Riordan subscribes to limits the personnel information seen. From this software’s limitations, the acceptance of data is poor. Only essential information is used. The HRIS system possesses the ability to track employee information such as:

• Personal data (name, phone number, address, birthday, marital status, etc.)

• Date of hire

• Pay scale

• Precedence date (may be different than the date of hire)

• Personal exemptions for tax purposes

• Vacation hours (for non-exempt employees)

• Organizational information

All important employee information is separated into classifications. Each manager is responsible for keeping employee files.
