CHANGES THAT HAVE TAKEN PLACE IN THE FIJIAN LIFESTYLE SINCE A CENTURY

THESIS

Fiji as a transitional society refers to the changes that have taken place in Fiji’s society from the earliest of time to the present. Fiji being a multicultural nation has come across many changes since a century. The Fijian lifestyle has also gone through many enhancements and transitions due to these events. These changes may include changes in the traditions, behaviour, living style, eating style and the lifestyle as a whole. The major factors which led to these transitions include modernization, mass media and peer pressure. For example, modernization has brought about changes in the way in which people dress in the current Fiji society; mass media affects the behaviour of the people, and; peer pressure affects the values of a person.

Primary Research

I shall first of all, survey some villages in my area. Then I shall construct about twenty interview questions and have this checked by my English teacher. After the correction is done, I shall go and interview few personnel in the village who I should have already contacted for an interview at a time most convenient to them. It should take the respondence about three to five days to fill in the questionnaire. Similar to the interview data, all information will be kept in a safe place to await further analysis.

* Encyclopedia (general information on Fijian lifestyle)

* Library

It will take a bit of time to collect all data as much reading and writing will be required which will be mostly done in my own time. The...
